The grand castle of Vinzelles may be reached from the south by a long avenue lined with chestnut trees and partially cut into the rocks.

The grand castle of Vinzelles, whose first known lord was Etienne de Layé in 1283, has a central structure which is oriental in style yet is topped with an Italian influenced roof. To the north and south, two wings look toward the west, beyond the large square villa.
